Funny online review…Tabula Rasa

// November 16th, 2007 // No Comments » // Entertainment, Gaming, SciFi

Zero Punctuation posted their review of Tabula Rasa a game i’m currently playing around with.

This has to be one of the more humorus reviews out on the web. I laughed my ass off watching it. =)

Quiet around here

// February 21st, 2007 // No Comments » // Entertainment, Gaming, Just Blogging

Not much going on. I’ve been hanging around the house (and I’m an admitted homebody) trying to stay warm from the unusual cold spell we’ve been having. I’ve also been playing a new MMO called Vanguard that’s frustrating and fun at the same time. Frustrating because its buggy as hell, will usually crash at inopportune times and has a myriad of other problems, especially if you don’t have a decently powered machine to play. Fun because the game offers you a number of different options such as crafting, diplomacy, and adventuring so you have a number of things you can do. Don’t feel like grinding out an adventuring level? Go work on diplomacy and see if you can affect a village or town with your skills. Tired of diplomacy? Go craft up some items on 1 of 3 different continents, each with there own style and economy. So as stated before its fun but frustrating. In addition the game has the ability to blog key highlights of your character and you can add portraits and blog shots of your own. Here’s my character in the game.

Besides being a homebody, i’ve been crazy lazy with my eating habits and workouts so i’ve started to try and improve it this week. That combined with some small workouts will lead to more improvements so I can get back in shape some. We’ll see how it goes. Later!

Fusion Frenzy 2!!!

// July 27th, 2006 // 1 Comment » // Gaming

Woot! I just saw over at Joystiq that Fusion Frenzy 2 is on for Xbox 360:

“Microsoft has officially announced the holiday arrival of Fuzion Frenzy 2 for the Xbox 360. Interestingly enough, this one’s actually being developed by Hudson, a subsidiary of Konami (the first game was done by Blitz). Aside from oh-so-creatively shifting the 40 mini-games into space and across multiple planets, the new developer has seen fit to add full online functionality, allowing players to create custom tournaments and build up a rank that gives them some authority in picking which mini-games to play next. It isn’t specifically mentioned, but you can probably count on purchasing and downloading extra activities months after you’ve grown tired of the original selection.”

I need to start putting more crap up. I’ll try daily even if it sucks. Anyway I had a good workout this a.m. I woke up at 4:30 did 40 minutes of cardio then hit the gym. Everything was crisp and I went through all my reps pretty quick. I think the key is getting to bed by 10 and no later than 10:30. Anything after makes it tougher to get up and going.

I still want to get a semi game site going to do periodic reviews etc, but nothing thats too heavy and time consuming. I talked to my bud Auric over at Ianstorm who’s got some plans in the works that i’d love to be apart of if I can help, as it would put me back over into the game industry in a small capacity. We’ll see what happens.

EA Sucks

// June 20th, 2006 // 2 Comments » // Entertainment, Gaming, Just Blogging, Rants

I hate EA. The debacle that is the release of NFL Head Coach has only confirmed how crappy they are and how lucky they are to wield so much power in the gaming industry not to care about gamers. First they screwed the shipping of the game which was supposed to ship the 19th. Then to top it off, they offered a download version of the game on the ship date but have so far be unable to get their knockoff version of Steam to work successfully.

 I was hoping to be playing around with the game while I watched the NBA Finals. In fact i’ve been jonesing for it for a while. Instead i’m forced to wait another day (or two) for a game I preordered to be here by now. I wonder what would happen if they didn’t have an exclusive NFL license. Would it be more passion and care for the gamers that by their products?? Doubtful.

Out of Hiding

// October 13th, 2004 // No Comments » // Entertainment, Gaming, Just Blogging

I’ve been absent this week because i’m lazy!

Quick update. I’ve been playing a lot of Counter Strike: Source, Tribes: Vengeance, and Kohan II so the new video card has been getting a workout.

I’ve had some problems with lockups so reverted back to the released version of drivers from NVida. I’m not quite sold that its fixed and the only other problem could be heated related. If thats the case i’m gonna be a pissed because the 5900 ran fine.

So we’ll see how it all plays out. BTW can you believe all the good games currently available? I still have yet to play Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 could be coming soon. So many games, so little time..

My new graphics card!

// October 8th, 2004 // No Comments » // Entertainment, Gaming

Finally got a Geforce 6800u installed in my system today courtesy of my cousin. When I went to pick up the card he had CounterStrike Source going which brought back a lot of old maps and memories so of course when I got home I had to download it from Valve. So far i’m slightly disappointed with the strafing and during the last bit of playing the game started locking up for no apparent reason. So before calling it a night I started downloading the Half-Life 2 preload portions.

I’ll figure out (or at least attempt too) whats going on with the sound issues that lock up the game tomorrow…
