Musings..

Last night, in beween catching up on episodes of Deadwood and building a DVD bookshelf which I purchased at least 6 months ago and finally broke out to put together, I started thinkig about how all the undone, uncompleted tasks in and around my house had become a statement for what my life had become.
The sad (or funny, depending on our perspective) part was that I didn’t care up until last night. I kep thinking about my room and how I needed to clean it up except I couldn’t because it meant that I would actually have to start cleaning up everything else around the house… the kitchen, the living room the computer room, garage etc. All of them were areas of my life that I had made ecxuses for not doing something about.
Hopefully, I can continue to move forward, one small project at a time until everything is cleaned up or fixed and in the spot its supposed to be. I guess only time will tell…
SciFi Woes

Finished up the Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars mini-series last night. It was really enjoyable seeing the cast back together and the story was pretty damn good considering they only had 4 hours to use.
I couldn’t help but think why the heck did SciFi take this show off the air?? But then again I could say the same for Showtime abandoning StarGate SG:1 and Jeremiah, Babylon 5 being shwn the door, etc. So many examples of SciFi shows being dumped with the programming that eventually supplanting it being subpar and in most cases doing worse than what was there before.
If you were a fan of Farscape be sure to catch the full 4 hour replay this coming Sunday, it’s worth it. Also keep an eye on the Save Farscape webpage for details on what you can do to contribute to more mini-series being made.
A profound moment in IRC

My profound moment:
The thing about old games (during their time) was they left so much up to your own imagination which added to the entire experience. These days with the incredible graphics etc. its hard to find that kind of magic in a game. It’s like seeing a girl in nice clothes or bra and panties vs in her birthday suit. She’s much more desirable fully or partially clothed because it leaves much more to the imagination.
Out of Hiding

I’ve been absent this week because i’m lazy!
Quick update. I’ve been playing a lot of Counter Strike: Source, Tribes: Vengeance, and Kohan II so the new video card has been getting a workout.
I’ve had some problems with lockups so reverted back to the released version of drivers from NVida. I’m not quite sold that its fixed and the only other problem could be heated related. If thats the case i’m gonna be a pissed because the 5900 ran fine.
So we’ll see how it all plays out. BTW can you believe all the good games currently available? I still have yet to play Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 could be coming soon. So many games, so little time..
My new graphics card!

Finally got a Geforce 6800u installed in my system today courtesy of my cousin. When I went to pick up the card he had CounterStrike Source going which brought back a lot of old maps and memories so of course when I got home I had to download it from Valve. So far i’m slightly disappointed with the strafing and during the last bit of playing the game started locking up for no apparent reason. So before calling it a night I started downloading the Half-Life 2 preload portions.
I’ll figure out (or at least attempt too) whats going on with the sound issues that lock up the game tomorrow…
Ouch

Wow i’m tired. Wednesday night is flag football night, meaning I struggle with getting home, getting a shower, getting food in me and generally stuggling with any type of movement. It sucks being old. Anyway its our first year in the league and we’re not doing to hot, but we won tonight 12-0. We have two games left sitting at 2-4. Hopefully we can finish those two up with wins and break even.
I’m horribly out of shape and I know it. I plan on getting in some kind of decent shape for the next season. Its been fun in any regard. For now, i’m taking my tired aching body to bed.
Let’s try this again shall we..

Ok. The website has been updated and redone. This time the colors aren’t as bad as before but they do need a little work. Bear with me as I try to make this more of a habit instead of an afterthought.
For those of you just joining in progress, the previous site was a cluster in the worst way. I had a few posts, most notably entries regarding my long wait for the delivery of my 300c. But as it stands now we have a fresh start going.
So what’s it all mean. Well this is for me to put up something on a semi regular basis. A look into what i’m thinking about at the moment…a chance to reflect, wax poetic or just blast everyone. Consider this my moment of expression and reflection, a chance to let go whenever I want.
Hopefully this will be fun and interesting but whether it is our not, its me. ![]()
